Here is an excerpt from the book…
Eighteen months down the track I was building a nice team of people. I was happy with the way I was climbing the ladder. There is always the roller coaster ride but I was accepting the ups and downs and kept moving on. I realised when I wasn’t moving very fast, I was in my comfort zone or I was listening to negative people. Always beware when the white ants start crawling in. I started a habit of going to lunch with some of the other Managers, after the monthly Manager meetings. It only takes one to be negative about the meeting, the Distributors, promotions, what people wear; the new catalogue is not as good as the last one and so on. Then another Manager would join in and they would start on the Host Gift Special being similar to the one we had two years ago or how the dating gift wouldn’t do anything for our business, and of course, there was the network gossip. Should I keep attending anymore? Yes, I wanted to hear the gossip. I thought this won’t affect me. I would do what I have to do for the success of my business. I would rationalise it by telling Frank all about the days happening and how it wouldn’t affect me. But who was I kidding. After a few months, the cracks started to form and I was still in the negative group. Looking back, I can now see how easy it was to get caught up with it all. This is an insidious trap that only spirals downwards.” – Louisa Clark
